180 Grand Street Gallery Hours

Victory Hall Inc. began its enterprise in a grand old Elks Club Hall that was renovated to become, from 2001 to 2007, a vibrant space for the arts in Jersey City and the surrounding metropolitan area, presenting contemporary art, original theater, spoken word, performance, poetry, film, music, and dance events. We regularly drew tens of thousands of visitors each year to Arts weekends, films, and classes.
Despite the loss of our original space in 2008, our Victory Arts Projects program continued its work for the next five years, producing art exhibits, public art projects and interactive educational programming in public buildings, businesses and institutions throughout the NY/NJ community.
In 2012, after a year of preparation and development, Victory Hall Inc. once again procured its own space, culminating in the opening of DRAWING ROOMS in Jersey City in October of that year. A month thereafter, Hurricane Sandy damage forced a temporary closing until the grand re-opening of our arts center in May of 2013.
DRAWING ROOMS is a contemporary arts center in a former convent building in Downtown Jersey City focusing on works in drawing, painting and print by emerging, under-recognized and more established artists.
With ten rooms for individual artist or group exhibitions and a gallery shop, we provide a place where artists in NJ and the NY Metropolitan area can gather, connect and advance their careers. Our innovative and exciting exhibitions, public programs and publications enrich the lives of our community through an appreciation of and involvement with contemporary art
Take some time during an afternoon to walk through our gallery rooms, or sit a while and spend some time with the artwork. Visit the Tenth Room, our gallery shop where you will find smaller drawing, painting and sculpture for under $200 created by artists from the community, as well as our Victory Hall Press books.
A catalyst for the arts in the NJ/NY metropolitan area, Victory Hall Inc. provides a space where the arts communities and the public can share, interact and enjoy new artistic experiences. We advance and nurture the artistic and cultural endeavors of emerging and established artists whose works reflect the vibrancy and diversity of our communities.
DRAWING ROOMS exhibits artists from the NJ/NYC metro area who are a vital part of our programs and outreach to our community. Drawing Rooms is primarily interested in innovative drawing, works on paper or other materials, prints, 3 dimensional drawing, and painting.
